Parks & Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Division provides fun, safe and affordable recreational programs and event opportunities to promote healthy lifestyles for all in our community.
The Division maintains and operates five public parks and a community center for our community and visitors to enjoy. Each park is equipped with BBQ grills and picnic areas that are wonderful for family outings. If you would like to reserve a park or community center facility, please visit the Parks and Recreation office to check availability or view the online calendars for each facility on the Facility Reservation page.
Mission Statement
The Town of Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Division is dedicated to providing quality recreational, educational, cultural, fitness, social and environmental opportunities that meet the diverse needs of our community.

Current Events and Programs
GRASSHOPPER BASKETBALL
Registration for our 5th-8th grade Grasshopper season will open November 4th. Cost is $40 per child. That season begins mid-January and will end before Spring Break in March. We are looking for coaches for the 5th-8th grade season, contact Parks & Recreation if you are interested in coaching.
TRUNK OR TREAT ON MAIN
We had another amazing event with over 6,000 people attending the event. We had 64 groups participate in handing out candy along Main Street. The Town purchased over $5,000 in candy, which was almost 46,000 pieces. This year we received donations in the amount of $2,275 to go towards the purchase of the candy, our highest donation total to date, and with the increased cost of candy this made a huge difference! We had over 40 people attend our free showing of Hotel Transylvania on Community Center Field.
CHRISTMAS CRAFT BAZAAR
Vendor registration for our annual Christmas event opened on September 25th. As of Monday, Sept. 30th, all inside vendor spaces are filled, but we do have outside spaces available. You can register here: https://www.eventeny.com/events/christmas-craft-bazaar-2024-14904/
Registration for the parade is also open. It is free to enter the parade and the only requirement is that you have lights on your entry as it is the Parade of Lights! You can sign-up online here.
PECAN & WINE FESTIVAL
Vendor registration for our annual Pecan & Wine Festival opened on Monday, Oct. 21. All inside spaces for this event filled in less than 24 hours. We do still have outside vendor spaces available. Anyone interested in being a vendor can register here. The event will be held March 15-16, 2025.
Parks & Recreation Commission Meetings
Our Parks & Recreation Commission was developed to be advisory to the Town Council, representing the community. They have regular monthly meetings and an occasional work session as needed. These meetings are held the first Monday of the month in Council Chambers located at 473 S. Main Street and they are open to public. Meetings are formatted like the Town Council meetings, following open meeting laws. Agendas are posted on the Parks & Recreation Commission page on the Town website. Next Regular Session is November 4, 2024 at 5:30 pm. Regular meetings are also accessible via Zoom.
The group is currently focused on assisting staff in the development of the Parks & Recreation Master Plan. Items being discussed at the Sept. 9th meeting include an update on the P&R Manager position and Sports Complex, pool staff training, possible approval of the P&R master Plan Request for Proposal, and volunteer opportunities.
