The Town of Camp Verde provides animal control and impound services to our citizens. Animal Control is under the direction of the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office.

Impound Fees

Impound Fees in the amount of 50.00 will be assessed and due at the time the animal is released back to the owner.

If any of the following are met, the fee will be reduced to $30.00;

• Dog is licensed pursuant to ARS 11-1008 at the time it was impounded; or
• Dog is sterilized and implanted with Microchip; or
• A veterinarian determines that medical contraindication exists for sterilization

Additional daily fees will be included for each day after the first day of $10.00

Dogs will be held for a period of 72 hours to allow for the owner to claim their pet. If the animal goes unclaimed after the 72 hours, ACO’s will attempt to locate a foster parent through rescue shelter contacts in the Camp Verde area.

If there is no rescue shelter available and the 5 day time frame has expired the dog will be taken to the closest, appropriate Humane Society.

Because Cats are free roaming animals and there is no law against Cats being at large, Cats will only be taken in if they are injured, sick or on a case by case situation. Cats that are trapped will need to be taken by the citizen to an appropriate humane society; all apical fees will be paid by the person who trapped the animal. The Marshal’s Office is researching possible organizations that may be able to provide support for stray/feral Cats.

Licensing and Fees

• Purchasing a license tag and attaching it to your pet's collar is one of the most important things you can do as a responsible pet owner. In addition, displaying a current Camp Verde tag on your dog's collar makes it easier for animal control officers and shelter employees to locate a lost pet's owner information. Your pet's current license could be their ticket home!

   To license online, visit petdata.com/campverde and click "Online" under License Now to start. Dog owners can license multiple pets at the same time and easily upload required documents. All major credit cards are accepted, and a small convenience fee will apply per transaction.

   All Camp Verde dog licenses expire on December 31 and must be renewed each year by January 31. Remember, all dogs over four months old must have their rabies vaccinations and be licensed with the town. Spaying and neutering is encouraged, and a discounted license rate applies.

   License fees are as follows:

  unaltered dog - $24

  spayed/neutered pet - $12

  To purchase license(s) by mail, dog owners can mail a copy of their pet's current rabies certificate and any other applicable documentation along with a check payable to Camp Verde Dog Licensing to:
