Music in the Stacks is a showcase of local and national musicians who entertain regularly in Northern Arizona. There are 3-5 different performers during the show, with a rotating variety each month.
This month's musicians are Eric Douglas, Jo Berger, and Spencer Vandevier.
Eric Douglas is an Arizona singer/songwriter who combines contemporary folk, classic rock, and Texas country to tell stories of people finding their place in the world...for better or worse. Eric paints an American landscape, with songs from the Southwestern desert, the Great Plains, and the open road. He is a dynamic live performer, and a veteran of folk festivals across Arizona - either solo or with folk trio Hambone.
Singer/songwriter Jo Berger grew up in Colorado with a strong love for the land. Learning guitar and flute, she loved the old-time music of the West and the folk music of the 60s. She was introduced to the wonderful melodies and lyrics of jazz which continue to shape much of her original music. Jo sings quite a wide variety of tunes including originals, folk, blues, jazz standards, Latin, and old-time country music.
Singer/Songwriter Spencer Vandevier attended Santa Fe University of Art and Design and Graduated in 2015 Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Music Performance with a focus on electric and upright bass. This is also when his interest in songwriting truly blossomed. His music has been described as dark folk/world music fusion. Spencer is also a founding member of the rock/funk group The Vandevier Breaks who play a variety of covers and originals throughout northern Arizona. Spencer also works as a session bass player and vocalist, working with artists in northern Arizona as well as Phoenix.
